My wife Patricia Laurel and I like to travel and we like to write.

 

Born on opposite sides of the planet, we now live in my hometown in Tennessee and San Pablo, Laguna, Philippines.

 

She worked in the travel industry and as a journalist, and has published two novels set in the Philippines, Hawaii and California (“Only if You Can Find Me” and  "Mandarin Mannequins of Chinatown"). Both are available on Amazon.

I am a journalist and taught at Universities in Minnesota and Hawaii. My novel "Murderers' Home", is available on Amazon.

 

Retired and unpaid, I write for my small hometown weekly. This is no way to get rich, but it offers distinct advantages. I write about whatever I want whenever I want and my editor (Patricia) loves me, which is a first in my newspaper experience.

 

Patricia is the editor/publisher of the online magazine ArtinSite (artinsite.org), which covers Filipino culture and arts.

 

We are launching our website Being Here, Being There to write about Road Trips and wherever they take us. Our locations offer a rich variety of potential experiences.

 

We have lived in the Philippines, various places in the States (including Hawaii) and in Germany. 

 

We keep our foot in the road no matter where we call home.

Our Road Trip stories will be about scenic destinations, food and accommodations, people we meet, historic site and the arts and, of course, the road.
